To stop genocide, the actor Abiy Ahmed MUST GO!

The genocide will only continue at a grand scale until the feds get serious and start enforcing the law justly. The genocide has tacitely been supported by those in the power structure who are hopping to emulate a TPLF style of hegemony.

Re: Stop Genocide In State of Oromia
If Abiy goes by force you will have Rwanda going on for some 20 years minimum. You need to go to Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Syria and calculate lives lost, properties destroyed, human spirits crushed, wounded, bruised, dehumanized and reduced to utter hopelessness. And yet you seem to admire the cataclysm since you have a gun with which you may keep earning your bread by hook or crook. Hopefully sober and rational Oromo youths keep light years away from your Satanic preaching of no value. If you want the PM to leave power you must have a political party, political agenda on which basis you may go to the people and peacefully and politely campaign to get support or not get support. That way we can slowly but surely build political activities and peaceful political transitions for a new vibrant egalitarian political system for all. All else is like running in a circle with no end insight. But if you have only your familiar Pol Pot and Stalinist Marxist Leninist model firmly glued to yourself you can't make even in the next century let alone in the 21st century.

As a matter of fact you are inflaming and feeding the possible genocide by your own chosen statements, timings and wording in which case you may come to enjoy the results of deliberate choices. Genocide is not coming just from the vacuum but comes from provocative bygone tyrannical dictatorial system admirers and enablers. But then what does it matter to you whether genocide takes place or not because you are sitting far away in a foreign country, munching your fat burger and pouring barrels of beer down your bulky stomach. Changing constitution has its own process which the majority decides if need be so even in that case you may not have it the way you dream.Za-Ilmaknun wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 19:21The genocide will only continue at a grand scale until the feds get serious and start enforcing the law justly. Statement of SAGE on The Looming Human Catastrophe in Ethiopia in the Aftermath of Artist Hachalu Hundesa’s Assassination
July 3, 2020
The Society Against Genocide in Ethiopia (SAGE) strongly condemns the recent murder of artist and activist Hachalu Hundessa, expresses its most profound condolences to his loved ones, and categorically denounces the indiscriminate killings of ethnic minorities, such as Amharas, Guraghes and Wolaytas,in the Oromia region in the aftermath of the assassination. While SAGE fully supports the measures being taken by the Ethiopian government to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice and stabilize the country, we believe that the predictably tragic events that have been witnessed are a regrettable consequence of the indecisiveness of the same ethnic-based government that was established on a constitution that is pivoted on the primary objective of irreparably eroding national unity and creating acrimony among ethnic groups.

Re: STOP GENOCIDE IN OROMIA
The so called Oromo national question forever lacking any clearly defined vision, purpose and strategy has now effectively transformed itself into a terrorist phenomenon. Qero (youth) terrorism, just as Somalian case, will devour Oromo society even more than the rest of Ethiopia.
Time will witness that the whole notion of Oromo development and freedom will soon be destroyed by the Qero violence, anarchy and terrorism; that is, short of establishment of federal order throughout the vast Oromia.

I dont understand why you have to be angry. It is a fact that have been reported even by UN, Amnesti and multiple media outlets. It is better to acknowledge what has happned and bring the perpetrators to justice, if there is such thing in that country. I wish i could find a better word to describe what is happening. It is what it is...and I understahd that it is very unconfortable truth...but that doesnt make it go away.
As for the timing..if not now when? It has been going on for the last three decades and nothing has been done to stop it. Now the current regime is at the verge of collapsung by its own choice of partners and indecisive leadership. I can't sit iddle while the forces of evil are unleasing their attrocities on to innocient hard working folks..just because they are perceived to be from different ethnic background.
TPLF is running loose hoping to find partners...and they are finding plenty within the administration.

Ethiopia has always been Ethnic based government both in the past and at present even though the bygone one is more hidden and covert while the current one is public and overtly displayed.
National unity is not being eroded by the constitution, the political system and the government but by the deep rooted structural inequalities and prejudices that hurts the minds and spirits of the people feeling robed, insulted and offended. So each segments of these cumulative structural inequalities needs to be addressed and resolved so that slowly but surely peace and understanding may prevail.
Or else we might be having constant SAGES and ongoing alarms. This does not mean that the current federal system does not have problems needing amendments.

I am not angry by any definition of the word or even saying that criminals should not be punished because I want criminals to be punished seriously so that they may come to respect the law of the land, now and in the future.Za-Ilmaknun wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 20:19Sunnysun wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 19:43As a matter of fact you are inflaming and feeding the possible genocide by your own chosen statements, timings and wording in which case you may come to enjoy the results of deliberate choices. But then again all criminals should be punished but not protected and praised like some you guys are doing. The other funny thing is also that some of you extremists are using this nasty occasion to over generalize the issue by far and insult the whole Oromo nation by design or by implication just like bygone tyrant rulers.

Re: STOP GENOCIDE IN OROMIA
Sun , Are you preparing Ethiopians for hush-hush genocide? What is the definition of genocide in your book? If people are targeted and killed for who they are and because of their religion that qualified it. You are not putting yourself in the shoes of those being burned in their house with their kids. What you mean " provocative bygone tyrannical dictatorial system admirers and enablers" what it got to do while the genocidal crime is being committed at this time ,and while your beloved government report the crime in own media ?. If you think that every inhuman action by genocidal keeros has to be kept under the rug to keep Abiy's image continue to shine .. it is obvious you must have lost your human essence altogether. It is an old propagandist trick to blam victims as the cause of their own misery. Just a piece of advice, it would be a mature discussion if you focus at the problem at hand ,ad hominem attack is not going to be a solution to the problem at hand . sun,
I decided to respond to your comment quoting my previous response, though there are clues toward your effort to manipulate the opportunity.
I can write several paragraphs on this issue. But shortly, the sentences I identified from your comments tell the following.
1. Qeerroo isn't that group starting a fresh start of its struggle to take it several years. Experience, in case of TPLF led regime, tells us what you witnessed the position of TPLF today. Intensive struggle of about 4 years threw them home. Now even the dynamics is in favor of Oromo struggle.
2. You talk about political parties, as if we had none. But we know where our leaders are now in the regime's owned mother country. It isn't about party but it is about arm they are communicating us.
3. You wanna introduce fear by telling us outcome of possible conflict. But the question is who is supposed to refrain from instigating what might produce outcomes you listed? I mean the colonizers or colonized nation? Just war is self protection but not offensive war. Oromo's position is self defense for survival on its fatherland Oromia as an Oromo. Settlers are telling us that they are not willing to let free their subjects unless offered resistance that commensurate with their offensive act.
4. The gesture of Abiy in military wear is no less than calling us to try him. Yes we are gonna try him. I wish you long life to be a witness of the outcome, may be in no extended time.
The era calls for an eye for an eye act.
I hope you understand that I am not asuch referring to Abiy as a person. I am referring to the colonial regime that he is willing to extend. Those at the back of him, residues of Menelik, are all those involved.
For example, you can listen to VOA, today where one stone heads by the name Prof. Getachew is saying. He is acknowledging Abiy's murderer act on innocent Oromos. Unfortunately it is all of them descendants of settlers in Oromia doing, promoting, and extending such evil deeds on Oromo nation. Note that Oromo never went to their territory. It is a genocide such stone head Amharas calling on Oromo at its native land, where these stone heads are allowed to settle though they are residues of colonial regime.
So who cares for the dead fish except the fisher man?

Who is colonizers who is colonized nation?
Just read what an Oromo historian called Dr Assefa Jalata wrote about the history of Oromo.
Your "fatherland" was some where in Kenya and Borana , not the one that oromos colonized now.
Just read what an Oromo historian called Dr Assefa Jalata wrote about the history of Oromo.

"The Oromo view their original homeland as the southern highlands of present-day Ethiopia. It is known that between the 12th and 15th centuries, they were already organized into two confederations known as the Barentu and Borana federations. It was during this period that Oromos began their expansion from their homeland area in all directions. Today, all Oromo subgroup trace their heritage to one of these federations. 14- Rather than being a pure ethnic group, the Oromo are comprised of descendants of individuals who, even when they were not of pure Oromo stock, willingly accepted or were forced to accept an Oromo identity. Jalata notes that the Oromo historically increased their numbers through the assimilation of other peoples they conquered.
The assimilation process was facilitated by the institution of a unique administrative system among the oromo known as gada."
From a book enititled by "Oromo Nationalism And The Ethiopian Discourse: The Search for Freedom and Democracy, 1998" by Asafa Jalata , page 115 - 116
