Ya know..when slavery was officially ended, there were so many slaves who decided to remain with their masters. Some of those even thought that ending of the system of slavery was targeted against their livelihood and, went to fight against their liberators. Some of us are not created to live free and some of us are innately born free. Understanding freedom is contextual ....however, all the names called out only ring misery and horror in the collective psyche of the people they purported to represent.

A slave is slave indeed!

It seems the old man doesn't believe in updating oneself just like TPLF; he still holds exclusive Amara ruling class existed tale tale during HIM. That has been proved to be wrong. Not only HIM himself was part Oromo but, the largest land lord in the country at that era was an Oromo family.

He judged Demeke and Gedu in his own image despite their not being part of the Arms struggle but, mere youth league; he didn't hesitate to conclude that they chose to be "criminals" like those in the Arms struggle too. However, one changing coarse in politics without even being in the Arms struggle is a normal thing to do. Their stopping believing that there was Amara exclusive ruling class fallacy of the 60s generation is commendable.

Having said that, he doesn't have retirement plan now; then how does he live such a healthy looking life? If anything, this is one Amara cadre man TPLF/EFFORT should feel obligated to finance and offer something decent for him to live comfortably if they aren't doing already. The guy has stayed loyal to his masters for life indeed.
