The amhara people are like Tigrayans. Their culture is similar to Tigray. The language is also similar. Amharic and Tigrigna have the same alphabete and many words are the same. Tigrigna is more ancient than Amharic. Tigrayans have founded Ethiopia and the Ethiopian civilisation. The amhara could have been Tigrayans who migrated to South Ethiopia due to oppression from Aksumite kings.

The amhara should learn Tigrigna to understand the anceient culture of Ethiopia and to adjust themselves to new challenges as is the case now. Learning Tigrigna will bring more harmony between Amhara and Tigray communities.

If you can speak French or Hebrew or Arabic, you can learn and speak Tigrigna. Tigrigna is a beautiful language and the supra-structure of The Ethiopian State is Tigrayan culture in and out.

Examples : Abay River or Nile. The word Abay means big in Tigrigna. For the word Abay, Amharic uses another word.
Girl in Tigrina is "Gual", Amharic has no proper word for a girl
Month in Tigrigna "werhi" which also means "moon" indicating Tigrayans were involved in creating the calendar using the rotation of the moon ( moon calendar). In Amharic moon is "chereqa"', not related to the calendar.

Amhar children should learn Tigrigna as Tigray children learn Amharic. Tigray school children speak Tigrigna and Amharic. Schools in Amhara PROVINCES ( Gondar, Gojamme, Wello, Shewa and Harar) should teach Tigrigna for it helps us defend Ethiopia.

This should be tried. The Amhara leaders should change with the time. They should create solidarity with Tigray. One way to do this is to learn to speak Tigrigna. Tigrayans should work with Amhara. Forget Ethnic equality. Ethiopia as a country should continue first. There is no need for self-determination of ethnic groups claiming themselves nations, even though none had governments of their own.If Tigray and Amhara unite, Ethiopia will be safe and remains united. Otherwise the Amhara could be like Rwanda. I do not think Tigrayans will kill Amharas but Oromos and Somalis might do.This is what is going on in Addis ababa, where Oromos want the city under their rule and are trying to displace amharas or other non-Oromos.

I disagree the amharas left Axum during the 9th century because Axum collapsed and fallen to Gudit (evidence shows that she burned churches) during this time Axum royals left and hid in tegelut Shewa building monastery and Geez civilization,
