Ethiopia is not safe except Tigray Regional State.
Some 30 students were taken hostage 2 months ago and their whereabouts are not known.
Some groups may take some tourists hostage. Ethiopia' capital is not safe.
Israel has banned any travel to Ethiopia. some countries re considering similar actions.
Mekelle International Airport should serve direct flights to Europe and Middle East as it is the only safe route and it is heaper than travelling to Addis Ababa. The route will be any Europe -Mekelle- then to any destination in Ethiopia including Addis Ababa, which could be served by any domestic flights after a layover in Mekelle for 1-2 hours.
