Currently TPLF and its supporters are crying foul for being removed from federal and the Addis Ababa administration. Even though I would have kept them until the next election, just for political reasons i.e. for not giving too much ammunition for TPLF propaganda, nonetheless the main confusion arises from TPLF's complete illiteracy about how democracy works.

As Dr. Berhanu once said, TPLF doesn't understand about the basic concept of federalism even if it hits their face. The same can be said about the basic concept of democracy. They have a very twisted and weird understanding of democracy, which they call revolutionary democracy. Now when they start to meet real democracy in action, they are taken by surprise and are genuinely confused.

People voted for individual parties that make up the EPRDF coalition. The coalition can expand or remove its members, rename itself or change its programs in a democracy. As long as it holds the majority seats in parliament, it can continue ruling. TPLF left the coalition and became the main opposition party, that is fine and good. The coalition still holds the majority seats even after TPLF has left. In fact it has now more seats than before because the so called agar parties are now part of the coalition. The coalition has now more votes than when TPLF was part of it.

Since TPLF left the coalition and since the coalition is the ruling party, TPLF should have shown some self respect and pulled all its ministers out of the government offices altogether. But TPLF wants to have it both ways. It wants to be the main opposition and at the same time wants to be part of the government. This is absurd and not possible in any democracy. You can't eat your cake and have it too.

TPLF's argument, that the coalition changed its program hence it can't inherit EPRDF is nonsense. As long as its voters are fine with it, a party or a coalition can change its name or program as it wishes. Only the voters can revoke their vote if they don't agree with it. But currently only TPLF and other oppositions are crying foul, not the voters. So the coalition can continue to rule as long as it has the needed majority in the parliament. That is the rule of the game called democracy (majority rule), not some fake crap called revolutionary democracy.

Hence, the ruling coalition has every right to appoint government positions and in any democracy it appoints those who implement and support its program and not those who oppose it. That is crazy to expect such insanity.

TPLF, you can't eat your cake and have it too. You are not part of the ruling coalition that has the majority seat in parliament. You have become the main opposition party. Now show some self respect and pull out all the remaining ministers and officials. Don't wait until your members are thrown out and humiliated. Welcome to the game, called democracy.

P.S: pulling out of the coalition was the most stupid thing to do for TPLF. No serious coalition will ever accept TPLF as its member party, at least for the next decade. TPLF rejected the only coalition that was willing to accept it. Believe me in a few months time, even Prosperity party will not accept TPLF any more. TPLF gambled and lost badly.

It's mind blogging how they expect to retain their position of power even after declaring their opposition to the new government openly. You can not have your cake and eat it too. Why would Abiy allow them to be part of his government when they oppose him? It doesnt make sense to have someone who works against you within your own government. These people can not be of a sane mind.

I've come to the conclusion that abiy is a very astute politician. He played weyanes really well. Abiy didn't want tplf to be part of his government. That's why he enlisted obbo lemma to rebel and made weyanes believe they werent the only one opposing Prosperity Party. By doing so brother abiy made weyanes subtract themselves and rendered them irrelevant. I know now he's got psychology acumen. He beat them at their own game. As Issu says it's game over.

ትግሬዎች ስለተገነጠሉ አባላቸውንም ማስወጣት አለባቸው። እንዳልኩት የመንግስት ስራ ስትይዝ ከፓርቲህ ተወጣና የአገር አገልጋይ ት ሆናለህ። ስለዚህ ወያኔዎች ተገነጠሉ አልተገነጠሉም ምንም የተባረረቸው የጦር አርበኛ የሚያገባት ነገር የለም ይሷ ጉዳይ የቀረው በፓርለመንትና በአብይ ነበር።

ይኔን የሚገርመኝ ታድያ ይህ ከሆነ ነገ አብቾ እንደለመደው ማንንም ማባረር መቅጠር ከቻል ሙሉ አማሮችን ካባረራቸው ምንም እንዳታለቅሱ ነው የምለው። በዘራቸው ነው የተባረሩት እንዳትሉ ። ነግ በኔ ልመዱ።

በመጨረሻም ብልፅግና ፓርቲ በምንም አይነት ሕዝብ የመረጠው ስላልሆነ ምንም ከወያኔውች ጋር አያገባው ወያኔዎች ያሉት ብልፅግናል ፓርቲ አንቀላቀልም ነው ያሉት ። ሐጥያት አናረግም ነው ያሉት ። እንጂ የድርጅታቸው በምርጫ ከተመረጠው ወጥተናል አላሉም። ከአብይ ፋክ ፓርቲ ነው አንገባም ያሉት።

TPLF tones down its rhetoric. It seems it finally got the memo that without the other parties it will be an irrelevant local party with zero political power at the federal level and Addis Ababa. But it is still confused about the rule of the game, constantly lying and saying people voted for EPRDF. No that’s not true. TPLF was on the ballot paper in Tigray not EPRDF. The same is true for other regions. People voted for individual parties not for EPRDF hence individual parties can form any coalition and rule as long as the coalition has the majority. This is a good sign that finally TPLF is may be understanding the sever consequences of its stupid actions.

I would warn to get rid of the bad ones only, this is the reason why we don't learn from history, those who know the secrets of Ethiopia re useful, and always they can do good and become more Ethiopian nationalistic. Revenge is the worst thing except those who mean to harm Ethiopia as a whole, Amara, and the rest of Ethiopia must be stopped.

All of a sudden in every part of the country the identity issue has become the topic of the moment. Your uncles orchestrated it from Mekele. Any Ethiopian with five of his or her neurons working know that let alone Abiy. He let it pass assuming given time they come to their senses. But after nearly two years , it seems to me, he began to doubt that.
