Political constellations and the messy election scenario

Post by Zelku » 02 Jan 2020, 10:50

The current political climate with formations of alliances and alignments is nothing but the glimpse of the upcoming election’s nightmare scenario. From the outset, two ‘main stream’ forces seem to fill the entire the entire political spectrum: the ethnic based federalists and the individual (citizen) right groupings. The ethnic federalists have some established structure and teeth from the previous woyane led system.the latter, though potentially the superior force, has to work a lot to in the coming months to emerge as a winning force. The most interesting development to watch is how Dr. Abiy’s PP will cruise the thin line between the two camps. In the long terms, PP is marching towards to the second grouping but the rank and file are still operating in ethnic based mentality and inherits the organizational enablers from the ‘old’ system. This is a very dangerous stance. The more the federalist groups are tactically or strategically allied, is a threat to PP. the recent isn’t alliance among the Oromo forces is one clear example to show how dangerous PP’s position would be. Movements like ‘Balderas’ and Amara will only exacerbate PP’s position and gives a great boos to tplf pioneered ethnic federalism.
