When it comes to western multinational companies, it's even worse in Ethiopia than in Bangladesh. Until last year, Bangladesh was the country where those companies paid their workers the least in the world. But since, Ethiopia has been holding the world record as they pay their Ethiopian workers less than US$1 a day - which is four times less than in Bangladesh!

Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) uses most of those billions just to build industrial parks to accommodate those unscrupulous western multinationals. Currently there are 6 operational industrial parks in Ethiopia, and 6 more are upcoming - and these do not include private owned industry parks.

This is not about lowering Ethiopia; it's, sadly, a disappointing fact!
