My Five year plan for Eritrea

Post by Afdeyu » 04 Dec 2019, 13:12

Eritrea’s future development depends on utilization of its location and highly skilled high iq society that is easy to train: which takes us to manufacturing, trade, tourism
1. With our close proximity to Europe, Middle East rich countries, we can compete with Bangladesh,China in production of clothing, shoes, garments. To do that we need to expand the free trade zones in Massawa and Assab and improve banking system that makes it easy for private investors. Alongside the free trade zone build two industrial parks with incentives to private investors for the initial phase year 1-3 like tax incentives, no fee for imported machinery...(the goal is to make it so attractive and pull investors from other locations)
2. Trade with Middle East and Europe is key to Eritrea (that’s were the hard currency at). We need to get involved in trade agreements and use the current available African trade deals. And biggest one is to invite manufacturers from Europe and Middle East who will create their own entry to the market and introduce Eritrea as business friendly country.
3. Tourist: as the above two points get momentum the number of visitors will increase, and what’s needed is build at least five high standard hotels and resorts next to the free trade zones and industrial parks in Massawa and asseb, also Asmara and historical places.
4. Bonus idea: Poor Ethiopia has nothing to offer Eritrea, keep the borders close and allow them to use ports if they want too since Eritrea should be open for business for all without discrimination, but the argument from some that we need their markets is wrong in 2019, the world’s our market...
