Menelik, the so-called King of Ethiopia gave away Eritrea to Italy for slavery of the population, who were mainly Tgrigna speakers, but also a significant number from other tribes. This is unimaginable today that a leader gives away a part of the population of his country for slavery to another country. The supporters of Menelik, mostly Amhara praise Menelik as if he is Godlike, human being. But history speaks against Menelik. He was very cruel, subtile, power hungry tribalist.

We should demolish anything that reminds Ethiopians about Menelik. Even if Eritrea is an indepedent country, the act of Menelik in selling our people to slavey is unpardonable. Menelik and his wife Taitu should be punished for this crime by deleting them from our history.

I have changed. I just did some reading about Eritrea and also about Menelik. I find Menelik was an idiot, who used the Amhara for power by sending them to kill Oromos. Mnelik give away Eritreans (Tigrayans) to slavery. Is Menelik a hero? No, he was a shameless tyrant who sold millions to slavery to get some outdated guns for exachange. He used these guns to conquer and defeat Oromo and other tribes in South Ethiopia.

We have a lot of bad stuff in our history. We are too tribalists. We can make our evil leaders saints by twisting facts. Menelik is one example.

I have not posted anything agains killing Amharas. I have posted not to kill any one. I am mixed Tigray and Gonder. I think the amhara are too tribalist and are not ready to live in equality with others. I find Amharic should be banned as working language to discontinue the oppression of non-Amhara Ethiopians and make the Amhara less important. I do not believe in killing others. I am against any killing of Amharas or others.
