Breaking!!! - EZEMA and Prosperity Party start merger talks :P :P :P

EZEMA and Prosperity Party start merger talks

mereja.com December 2, 2019

The newly formed Ethiopian Prosperity Party (EPP) that is led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and EZEMA Party that is led by Dr Berhanu Nega have started merger talks, according to sources close to EZEMA.

EPP is formed after three of the four parties of the ruling coalition, Ethiopian People’s Democratic Front (EPRDF), decided to merge and become a unitary party last week.

EZEMA is not the only political party that has been invited by PM Abiy to join or merge with EPP, but it is a major one and the merger is expected to have a significant impact on the realignment of forces in Ethiopian politics.

The main stumbling block for the merger of EPP and EZEMA is said to be ideological. EZEMA rejects ethnic- and language-based federalism, while EPP embraces it.

The talks between the two parties may convince EZEMA to temporarily set aside its objection to ethnic-based federalism until a newly elected parliament takes on the issues after the May 2020 elections. EZEMA is pushing for amending the current constitution.

We the vast majority of the diaspora oppositions, couldn't be happier by the positive political developments in our country.
The merge ( disenfranchise of EPDRF) , the silent coup d'état of TPLF/ and most importantly, marginalization or the weakening
of ethnic extremists who have been trying to disintegrate Ethiopia into mini-countries. Therefore, we welcome the further merging
efforts of all opposition parties. If merging into one Prosperity Party is not possible, we encourage the government to create a conducive
political environment for multi- party / pluralism system. By doing that not only EZEMA and others pro-unity parties,
some ethnic based political groups including TPLF,   they can compute and win the general election. Over all, the political
situation are going great. The newly merged Prosperity Party, should not sleep until all these anti-Ethiopia ethnic extremists are completely
dismantled and buried alive. May God bless Ethiopia !!

EZEMA has more chances of being elected in Urban centers of the country than the tainted former EPRDF. The merger could lend credence to the commitment of the new party to Ethiopia than to selected ethnic enclaves. However, the stench of TPLF/EPRDF isn't that easy to wash off. This news is said to be false, tho.

No wonder, I don't bother visiting elias' mereja.com/ Now what is this new party EPP as highlighted above. If you are referring to the rebaptized EPRDF party whose chair is Dr. Abey Ahmed, its name is PP NOT EPP as you allude.

info,

EZEMA's loss Balderas's Win!

Balderas has beef with the terrorist JA-Qeerroo; but, not with the majority Qeerroo that has gone home after Dr. Abiy won Arat Kilo.

So, when ℙ² are ready, there is a good chance they can negotiate with Eskinder's group.

Be there or ℙ²! :P

Elias,

Please correct or edit this weyne's fabricated sensational news !! This is weyane's attempt to create a chaotic atmosphere
among our people. You should have known better than this Elias !!!

Having said that, I had suspected that this might have been a hoax
news. Had it been real news, this would have been a very pre-matured merger. Let alone a merger talk, there should be at least
some sort of common understandings and agreements about the directions of our country. As we all know, there are outstanding strategical
political differences b/n the government and oppositions. Even if we like to see the merging development of EPDRF, those political differences
would not make the merge possible. Unless otherwise EZEMA has flipped on us its political agendas like Obo Lema has on Abey Ahmed.

I'm not arguing with your whole argument, but just this specific point because while they are all trash and unrealistic arguments this one stands out the most. What interest does TPLF have in winning in the election? if so, why are we discussing wether we should stay with you people that can't run a country, or whether we should leave. Abiy is sucking everyone in tightly so his little fingers can have a grip.

Do you know what this guy did in Badme as a radio/intelligence operator? He was a radio operator inside a base, and he tuned into Shabia's radio frequencies and told them the exact location of where he was (the base with many other intelligence officers). He walked out, and 5 minutes later it was bombed to the ground. Killings the lives of Ethiopians fighting for our county. Your 'beloved' Birhanu Nega said that Abiy was an agent of Ginbot 7, and everyone knows that Jawar used him as an agent.

Why does this guy know tigrigna? To work with Shabia.
Why did this guy act as if he already knew Isaias Afwerki when he met him?

Look, as much as you believe Abiy is fake. All this 'ethiopia, ethiopia, ethiopia hagere' talk is fake because it didn't actually do anything? what has actually been done completely by Abiy. He's going to open the dam and be like I did it! I gave you power, while currently you only get 6 hours of power in Addis Ababa. The sales of candles has sky rocketed, Ethiopia is going back in time  candle lights! Abiy opened the new airport terminal, did he even start it or finance it? no he probably looted the money to opposition groups at the time. Now he cuts the red ribbon on the front. The economy is going to go into a recession it has already been one quarter of backwards growth, one more and it's a recession.

Why can't Abiy just shut down TPLF if they are so 'bad'? he can't they are more powerful than him. Getachew Assefa is roaming the streets as a free man in Abiy's country. Put it this way, let's say there is someone in your OWN home that you don't like and want to arrest him. What do you do? arrest him because it's your own home and call a civil arrest. But, Abiy can't even put law into effect and arrest people in his country, He has all those 4 star generals in Arat Kilo - he even killed one of them. This guy will never have full control of his own home, or country.

There have been more even worse conspiracy theories about Abey than you mentioned here. So far, none of which have been
substantiated by facts. Look, we can either continue debating about these frivolous allegations, or decide to move
forward and try to live together as one people. As far as who are better leaders for our country to lead, let the people of our country
decide on a democratically held election. But, we need to get there first. Nevertheless, most of us, including the Tigray people,
and even TPLF supporters, will agree that TPLF sold or conspired with Shabia, Ethiopia's national interests than Obo Abey Ahmed.

Secondly, whether or not TPLF as an ethnic organization, or the vast majority of the Tigray people should stay
with Ethiopia is out off a discussion. There should not be one country without Tigray, period !! T.P.LF has been trying to
hold the Tigray people hostages, unless they have complete control of power which has not worked for the last three decades. Therefore,
stop fabricating fake conspiracy theories ; and create a conducive political environment for oppositions in Tigray, so that the people of Tigray
would have political alternatives. Last, not least, TPLF should come to their senses and be a pragmatic organization and try to engage and work
together. One thing I can assure you or TPLF supporters is that, the people of Tigray do not want to separate or be an isolated State. As such, TPLF
should assess its past political and historical blunders objectively, and correct them before it is too late. But, it looks like TPLF has bent to stay the course of being saboteurs and spoilers, unfortunately at the expense of the Tigray people. We, all Ethiopians, would not seat idle to let this happen
to our brotherly Tigray people.

Other ethnic groups should not be able to decide where Tigray stays, if she opens her arms and gains independence that is her exercise of the constitution, the constitution that all Ethiopians abide - unless you are like some of our current leaders and violate them daily. The story about Abiy, is most likely true because the place was actually physically bombed, at the time General Tsadkan hard ordered that everything was to be recorded, and it is quite a obvious that Abiy walked out because he knew something, unlike all the others who stayed and worked hard against our enemy, shabia. I just want to highlight this story, because it shows that in the past he may have had a tendency to go against national interests, and this could be potentially dangerous having him as a Prime Minister.

TPLF has not been trying to hold the tigrayan people hostages, it may seem that way from an outside perspective. Right now, around 60,000 peasants are part of the TPLF. The TPLF was set up by the same people you see today in the farms, if you go back to mekelle the guy who checks your bag was probably a TPLF fighter. Everyone has lost someone, the TPLF is what holds tigrayans together. We are one of the only groups in Ethiopia, in which the people and party are in line with each other - hade mesmer. TPLF was for the people, by the people. TPLF has no interest in the rest of Ethiopia, even though we are the starters of Ethiopian civilisation. We generally don't want to even leave Ethiopia, we would love to stay because we are Ethiopian. But the circumstances that we are living in under the current government, may mean that independence is the solution.

The space for opposition in Tigray is open, the TPLF has done nothing to stop it. The only problem is the groups themselves, they worked with enemies such as Eritrea and Egypt. That is no go zone, and this is why they are hated. They were causing a complete pain the back for the past 27 years, and now Ethiopians complain we are stoping progress? They did for the past 27 years, while we perceived and grew the country.

For Example, ARENA, that guy was a former TPLF member now the leader of the opposition group - probably the most popular one in Tigray. Why will no one support him? Because of our love for the TPLF, we fought and died, fathers and mothers. When human life is lost for a cause, we are not going to give away that caused, and that cause the TPLF took millions of Ethiopians out of poverty. That's why no one supports the opposition in Tigray, the TPLF has done nothing to stop opposition in Tigray, and it doesn't need to.

We don't want to be independent, although this sentiment is slowly growing not out of our free will. The TPLF fought for Ethiopia. We just don't want to live marginalised and ruled by the current government because how many of us are going to be killed? imprisoned? and left out from Ethiopia? If you go out of the city in Tigray, people aren't obsessed over such identity issues, they are Ethiopian by nationality, and Tigrayan by ethnicity and All the ethnic groups in Ethiopia work together for the better good of the nation. Why has it become so complex?
