This days some Amhara elites claim something in the interest of their own narrow agenda and turn around to equate that with patriotism. In this regard I don't think they even understand the meaning of patriotism.
You can't be a patriot without even having sufficient knowledge of the people of the coutntry, for which you would like to present yourself as patriot. I don't think patriotism can go hand-in-hand with sectarianism. This is a simple hypocrisy.
Don't try to present your hypocrisy to the audience wrapping it up with patriotism, which you fail to grasp its true meaning adequately.
On the other hand a chauvinist can be a good sectarian as well, so better claim your true meaning, you are a chauvinist and a sectarian, but not a patriot.
