Ethiopia is in turmoil because of a rogue kilil in its midst. Destabilising Ethiopia also entails destabilising the Hron of Africa. These countries instead of focusing on development are being forced to focus on security issues because of the rogue kilil. This cannot go on indefinitely, Ethiopians have to make up their mind on Tigrai and help it to change its behaviour.
What are the options?
Regional sanctions?
Isolating it from the affairs of Ethiopia and the rest of the Horn?
Expelling it from the Ethiopian federation?
Suspending its membership in the Ethiopian federation for 1-2 years and review progress it makes?

Since the rogue kilil is insisting on lose-lose solutions, Abiy has to focus on a win-lose solution, where Ethiopia and the greater Horn come out as winners. And all this can be done and should be done through the coordinated efforts of the countries of the Horn without firing a shot.

It doesn't seem to be fair to postpone prosperity of the Horn because of the actions of a rogue kilil.

Since Ethiopians don't seem to be good at multi-tasking, they better ignore minor irrtants like Iskinder, Ermias, Jawar, Hizkiel, Bekele Gerba Habatmu Ayalew and focus on major irritants like Getachew Reda, Debretsion, Sibhat Nega. The only resources Iskinder Nega, Bekele Gerba, Habtamu Ayalew have is whatever they had in their festals when they were released, Getachew Reda and co have other resources and more sinister aims.

Tigray is not rogue. It is Eritrea, which the rogue killil. Eritrea wants war with Ethiopia. You are an Eritrean ascari, trying to disadvantage Tigray and Afar. As a human being, you should have supported Tigray,. But an ascari has no human face nor cor human values. An Eritrean ascari is a aslve, just with mission to destroy other communities because that is your way of thinking.

We hope there will no Eritreans coming to Tigray or Ethiopia because Eritreans are anti-Tigray and anti-Ethiopia. Ethiopia should deport Eritreans and treated as aliens. They have to pay for visas to live in Ethipia. We should see them as aliens or foreigners as are citizens of other countries.

Tigray is not rogue.

Isaias, Abiy, the new Sudanese leadership and S. Sudan are all already treating Tigrai as a rouge enclave. All they need to do is make it official.

Once the IGAD countries of the Horn make such an official declaration, it would enable them to sanction the rogue kilil which will give Abiy a breathing space.

However, the power trajectory is such that Ethiopia is going to get more and more stable, and Tigrai less and less so. So, in the long run, Abiy will tame the rogue kilil whether others help or not. But the process will be shorter if the other IGAD countries also pitch in and help. They can try to use their economic clout to bring Tigrai to its knees without firing a shot.
