Foiled schemes against Eritrea.

Post by Zmeselo » 02 Nov 2019, 11:20

From Recent Confidential Archives

http://shabait.com/news/local-news/2955 ... l-archives

Excerpts of the aborted subversive operation concocted against Eritrea by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch in 2011 were published on this website few weeks ago.

Today, we present condensed reports of:

1. A subversive scheme mapped out by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to instigate turmoil and upheaval in Eritrea to precipitate “regime change”;

2. A confidential report circulated by the Israeli Intelligence Agency (MOSSAD) with malicious intent of demonizing the Government of Eritrea by falsely associating it with “terrorist organisations” in the Middle East.

These outlandish schemes were hatched in the second half of 2011. In terms of purpose and intent, they were intertwined with numerous other of acts of hostility pursued by various powers with much frenzy in those times.

As it will be recalled, acts of hostility perpetrated against Eritrea in the past 20 years, purportedly to advance certain “global strategies”, were numerous indeed. Some of these reprehensible acts include:

• The blatant act of aggression launched from 1998 until 2000 under the pretext of a border dispute;

• The various subterfuges peddles to obstruct implementation of the ‘final and binding” EEBC Arbitral Decision;

• Baseless accusation levelled against Eritrea at the UNHRC in 2013 and thereafter;

• Organized human trafficking and youth migration pursued for the purposes of strategic depopulation and downgrading of Eritrea’s defense capabilities; etc.

All these hostile acts were frustrated and ultimately overcome through the resilience and steadfastness of the people and government of Eritrea; even if they had incurred much cost to the country. To a large extent, these unwarranted hostilities against Eritrea today constitute inexcusable episodes and vestiges of the past with little consonance to current realties. Still, past history is relevant both for drawing appropriate lessons as well in the interpretation and analysis of current and future events with greater depth and wider perspective. The condensed reports of hostile CIA/MOSSAD acts committed in 2011 are being published today within this framework; as a reminder of what had transpired in the past.

CIA’s Subversive Scheme

This highly condensed report is culled from the minutes of a secret meeting held by CIA agents in Nairobi, Kenya, on 4 June 2011 and other related confidential information. The agenda of the meeting was to chart out a plan “to topple the Government of Eritrea” in a short time. The participants of the meeting were:

1. Joey Hood - former Political Officer in the Embassy of America in Eritrea and, at the time, Top Advisor on Eritrea and Afghanistan in the State Department;

2. Mathew A. Bokner - Second Secretary, Kenya;

3. Lisa Davis – Freedom House, Deputy Director, New York;

4. Jay Zimmerman, Regional Refugee Coordinator, US Embassy Kenya; and,

5. Three other CIA officers, who used aliases

Excerpts:-

• These are critical times. We are in the midst of executing an organized and well- coordinated operation against the Eritrean government just as what we have accomplished in Libya.

• It is not only the US which is vehemently pursuing the policy of regime change in Eritrea. The European countries which were reluctant before are fully on board now;

• European countries are furious because the NGO’s they have been sponsoring were asked to cease operations and leave the country.

• Our original expectation was for regime change from within through some elements in collusion with the US and its allies. But this is not going to work; people’s uprising is unthinkable in Eritrea. This has zero possibility. So the only option we have is to use an external power which has an intimate knowledge of the military capabilities of the Eritrean regime. The external power that meets these requirements is the TPLF regime.

• The full report the TPLF has submitted to us on the structure, military capabilities and nature of the Eritrean regime is based on factual analysis and gives hope for accomplishing the mission in a short time. They were intent on launching a second war after the 1998 war. They refrained from doing so because we advised against a hasty move. Now they are prepared to launch war against Eritrea aimed at regime change. And they have secured the full support of the UN and partners.

• In tandem with this, the implementation and enforcement of the sanctions, which has remained nominal so far, must be ensured.

• Other tasks are being planned and coordinated to instigate the people’s uprising and internal turmoil;

• This will be followed by the intervention of an African Peace Keeping Force in response to the demand of the Eritrean people.

• The task of brainwashing Eritrean youth, especially inside the country, is progressing well. In the Diaspora, those who wish to see change have lent 100% support to our scheme. Some of these are academicians, some are businessmen and some religious figures.

• Therefore, a mechanism has been placed to remove the Eritrean government from power. It will be either through the pressure of sanctions and people’s rising as a first choice, or through the military intervention of the Ethiopian government with the international community being behind them.

• Parallel with these activities, the Pastor we have recruited in Nairobi is preaching for unity between Eritreans and Ethiopians. The plan consists of recruiting other Pastors too. We are sponsoring funding of these activities through Freedom House

• Alongside this certain mission, purported sermons preached by pastors we hired, have commenced and are bearing fruit. “Freedom House” is responsible for recruiting and sponsoring new pastors that abide according to our mandates.

• We are also working to ensure special handling of Eritrean refugees and facilitate the processing of their cases. UNHCR have been instructed accordingly. All necessary preparations for giving asylum, for the second time, to the National Eritrean Football Team in Nairobi have been completed.

• Ambassador Claude Heller, Chairman of the UNSC Somalia Eritrea Monitoring Group, and who had visited Eritrea in April 2010, is working on indicting the Eritrean Government at the ICC.

• (Full list of Eritrean quislings and foreign individuals, and organisations hired for this subversive scheme is spelled out in the documents. This has been omitted in this report for obvious reasons.)

Defamatory Circular by MOSSAD

At about the time when the CIA was involved in mapping out a subversive agenda of regime change in Eritrea, MOSSAD circulated a confidential report entitled:
Eritrea’s involvement in Weapons Smuggling in the Gaza Strip.
Main Contents of the allegations

• According to our information, some of the weapons smuggled into the Gaza Strip originate from Eritrea. These are surplus from the Eritrean military, and hence, originating from its procurement and build-up channels. The weapons arrive in Sudan via the border area between the countries.

• We assess that, ties with the military attaché at Iran’s Embassy in Asmara, are being exploited to promote Iranian interests in the region, including transferring quality Iranian weapons to Eritrea, and from there to Sudan and to the Palestinian Organizations in the Gaza Strip. (Note; Iran does not have & never had, an Embassy in Eritrea).

• Sudanese Weapons Smugglers with links to smuggler infrastructures in the region are in contact with weapons smugglers on the Eritrean side of the border. The strength of these ties stem from common financial motives and tribal links.

• The border area between the two countries, particularly the area of the towns Kasssala in Sudan and Tesseney in Eritrea, is a centre for the smugglers, most of whom belong to the Rashaida tribe.

• According to corroborated but not up-to-date information, an Eritrean company is promoting weapon smuggling from Eritrea. In 2008-2009 many reports were received linking this company to weapon smuggling.

• We also know that representatives of the Rashaida tribe, who operate in Eritrea, established direct links with Palestinian organizations in the Gaza Strip and mostly with Hamas elements.

(The Confidential Circular contains names and other particulars of Eritrean and Sudanese Government officials whom it falsely accuses of involvement in this operation)

This people paid to spill the blood of Eritreans Which is not enough what they did for over a century. It boils my blood. Now their dogs (woyanus) are inside rathole. They think eritrea is just other ordinary nation like to sit and watching wing invaded and hammered. Wrong! Hell will be on that part earth. Red Sea will be no be safe to anyone. Good thing is the wise leaderships of Eritrea handling it civilized way as they always do.

Eritreans are decent but fierce fighters as well. In our land... no one can beat us. If they think Afghanistan is hard, Eritrea is impossible.

I am just sayin

More awesome art from Eritrea, 2 admire. I wish I could claim this collage by Rahwa Asefaw as my own but I’m taking it to Nebraska for Art Envoy Kristin Pluhacek, who fell in love with the piece a year ago. All elements are tiny pieces of fabric, painstakingly affixed to a canvas.

This Day, in Eritrean History! On Nov. 2, 1958 Eritrean nationalists founded the underground Eritrean Liberation Movement (ELM), Harakat El Tahrir El Eritrya in Arabic; Mahber Shewate, in Tigrinya in Port Sudan to topple Ethiopian rule in Eritrea- through a coup d’état.

Lazy analysis aside, Eritrea‘s economy is neither Neo-liberal nor a Command economy. It is Mix economy, striving to achieve the perfect mix to secure development – Economic growth & equity. Social justice is at the epicenter: funnel investment to the periphery, as much as to the center.

The people of Eritrea were not aware of the coup plot. Maybe this is a recently declassified document by the government!!
Or it could be a reaction to the recent failure to nominate our president for the Nobel peace prize.
But in any event it is a little too late for any importance and is more likely a temper tantrum from a defunct and demented mind of PIA.

Some people just babble on with their nonsense, without carefully reading what it says in the announcement itself & end up making a fool out of themselves:

Eritrea

British men held in Eritrea freed

Four men who were being held on charges of spying and terrorism have been released after five months in captivity

Sun 12 Jun 2011

Four British men held on spying and terrorism charges in the Horn of Africa state of Eritrea https://www.theguardian.com/world/eritrea have been freed after five months in captivity.

The two ex-Marine guards and two civilian crew members, working for an anti-piracy security firm, were expected to land at Heathrow airport late tonight.

But questions remained over the security contractors' activities in the isolationist country, including official allegations that they set up a "military base" on a remote island and stashed sniper rifles, silencers, pistols and "poison-tipped" bullets
intended for perpetrating acts of terrorism and sabotage.
The men worked for British maritime security company Protection Vessels International, which said they made an unscheduled stop in Eritrea last December owing to rough weather while en route to provide security for ships in an area where piracy is rife. PVI claimed they were arrested because of
confusion over fuel payments.
But Eritrea's government insisted that the men were detained as they tried to leave Eritrean waters without permission, and said its searches then uncovered a weapons cache on the island of Romia. The government alleged that a total of 21 PVI employees were involved in crimes "against Eritrean sovereignty", and that four were caught while trying to escape.
On 19 December, 21 members of the PVI (including those four detained) infiltrated and deployed different types of weapons, poison-tipped bullets, bulletproof vests, specialised communication equipment and infrared night-vision binoculars in the sovereign Eritrean island of Romia,
a government press release http://www.shabait.com/news/local-news/ ... ss-release said last week.
There is high possibility that such military hardware is intended for perpetrating acts of terrorism and sabotage. Hence, the members are accountable for infiltrating into the sovereign Eritrean island of Romia and stashing weaponry, for orchestrating acts of espionage and terrorism.
The statement also claimed that 11 seamen stayed in hiding on Romia for four days, along with military hardware, equipment and communication facilities.
These seamen were given directives to keep guard in twos and to pose as 'tourists keen to observe sharks',
it said, proving that the PVI had been using Romia
as its military base and arms depot.
PVI employs former British marines to provide armed on-board security and escort vessels for shipping operating in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. It has denied Eritrea's claims.

Paul Gibbins, a company spokesman, said this was the worst event in the company's two-year history and a full investigation would be conducted into what had gone wrong.
We need to find out what the pinch point was. Was there a confusion over the fuel? Was there an issue over the vessel's departure? We just don't know at this stage,
he said.
The whole episode has been a series of unfortunate events.
Gibbins denied that the company was involved "any espionage or acts of assassination". He said that the ship had been forced to stop in Massawa for a crucial fuel resupply and equipment repair.

But, he insisted, the company had worked hard before it docked to ensure that the ship's presence was not regarded "as a threat or hostile action".
Christopher Collison was dispatched to Massawa to liaise with the local shipping agent and the port authority,
he said.
He was there for four days, explaining and negotiating. We had only intermittent contact with him during that time, because mobile phones don't work in that area. We worked very hard to ascertain if it was safe to enter the port.
Gibbins said that, despite the lack of contact, the company was eventually forced to make the decision to give the ship permission to enter the port. However, he said, it had tried to "desensitise" and "detune" the presence of both the ship and its crew by unloading the weapons they carried as part of their regular duties on Romia, an outlying and uninhabitated island, before landing.
We did everything we could to make it clear our presence was not misconstrued as a hostile act,
he said.

The ship spent five days at Massawa, but was eventually forced to leave before it had fully refuelled.
We needed 15 tonnes of fuel but could only get 1,500 litres before we were forced to leave to meet an engagement to provide security for clients,
said Gibbins.
In hindsight, it's true we could have done things better but, given the time constraints and the immediacy of the decisions that needed to be made, we worked hard to facilitate safe entry to the port. We do regret those unfortunate events and apologise to everyone concerned.

It’s surprising how the digital bullies of PFDJ are acting hysterically to avoid any honest discussion. The “news” was released by our government while under the influence of alcohol. No sane person either from the party or the government can explain the goal of this silly press release.
Was it a warning to the Mossad and CIA not to act against PFDJ again? Or to make the whole world aware that it’s not only the CIA and Mossad that do spying, we also find out things albeit 10 years after the event!

Amongst all the governments that existed in history, ours should have the award for shooting itself multiple times unnecessarily and now is limping behind the weakest and most divided Ethiopian government in the past 30 years!

But I am curious, did he consult with TPLF before the press release? PIA’s inebriated mind is the best ally of the TPLF.

Ok, this’s not new news and every body knows the cia and others tried to unseat Isaias regime. They couldn’t unseat issu so they unseat their own puppet Woyane. Nothing new here and they will unseat Abiy if they find a better horse to ride...
My question is why now? Looking for new enemy because Woyane is not as relevant and scary enemy to the general public? Diversion tactic? People are starting to ask where’s the reform? Why can’t we build houses in Asmara? Can the old and ailing leader retire with honors? Is Isaias a liability or asset to Eritrea going forward?
Many questions are coming from within in as the threat from Woyane is decimated, the Isaias is smart and looking on creating new enemies so nothing changes until he dies, but can you blame him grandpa is out of ideas and best thing for him and the country is retire with honor now.

It is called Freedom of Information Act, whereby the US govt releases edited versions of top secret material after 25 years, and less top secret material sooner than that. So the material obtained by Eritrea was released recently, it was not Eritrea which chose the timing. It was released on the basis of US timetable, Eritrea is simply reporting it. The same was the case the counterintelligence against Castro, Malcolm X, people discuss them 25 years later when the material is released. You cannot ask a Malcolm scholar, why know? He discusses the material when it becomes available 25 years later
