Eritrea's immunization coverage is virtually universal; hence, it is highly equitably accessible to all children and women in the reproductive age group. The country has been polio-free since 2008 and has maintained its maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) elimination status validated in 2002.

Global robotics firm chooses Rwanda as a gateway to Africa

By James Karuhanga. Published : October 11, 2019

When Fabrice Goffin, the Belgian owner of a company specializing in new robotics solutions, attended the just-concluded edition of Rwanda Day in Bonn, Germany, he had just a little idea of how patriotic Rwandans are.

The ex-director of the World Trade Center in Antwerp, Belgium had three months ago met Amb. Amandin Rugira, the Rwandan envoy to Belgium.

“I was interested to introduce my company in Africa but didn’t know if it would be possible,” he said.

The envoy then invited him to the embassy where he demonstrated what his robot can do.

Goffin’s company, ZoraBots, does business with countries from Asia, Europe, North America, and South America but not in Africa.

But on Saturday when he attended Rwanda Day, Goffin was inspired by the positive energy Rwandans demonstrated in their attempt to find solutions to the issues challenging their country’s development.

He promised to visit Rwanda in November. When he visits, Goffin will be exploring options for how to launch operations in Rwanda.

“My wish is to introduce robotics in Africa through Rwanda,” he said. “ZoraBots Rwanda would be the first company to offer robots to serve humans in Africa.”

The company targets to begin operations in January next year.

“First we will employ a local commercial expert (business developer). Then we wish to have contact with schools; to educate young people in the skills of robotics and programming. Young people will make the future of companies like mine.”

“If you search on service robotics or look at my company profile you will see that this market will be as big as the internet in the future. We need to start skilling young people on that. And Rwanda looks, for me, to be the perfect country to start these operations for Africa.”

More about ZoraRobots

Goffin who is passionate about Star Wars, an American epic space opera media franchise, explained that he started his company in 2011 with his best friend and co-CEO, Tommy Deblieck.

They sold their first robot in 2013. Today, he said, they employ more than 50 engineers and are the world’s leading company in assistant robots and robotic software.

Their robot became the first humanoid robot in the world to help children with their motricity or being able to move [in healthcare] and to help elderly people with their physiotherapy exercises.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT RWANDA’S NEWLY APPROVED NUCLEAR DEAL WITH RUSSIA

By Treasure Nnabugwu. Ventures Africa. October 22, 2019

The Rwandan cabinet has approved an intergovernmental cooperation agreement with Russia to advance the peaceful use of nuclear energy as a tool for soci0-economic transformation in the East African nation.

With the application of atomic energy, the nuclear power deal is set to modernize vital sectors such as agriculture, electricity generation, health, geology and mining amongst others in Rwanda.

The agreement was first signed in Moscow last December but was revisited in May 2019 when Rosatom Global, the Russian government nuclear parastatal, said it will help Rwanda set up the nuclear plant by 2024.

The roadmap signing in May took place between Rosatom Deputy Director General Nikolay Spasskiy and Ambassador of Rwanda to Russia, Dr Jeanne d’Arc Mujawamariya.

In line with the agreement, a Centre for Nuclear Science and Technology and a Nuclear power plant in Rwanda will be built in Kigali by Russian scientists. This will facilitate experiments and scientific research.

The approval of this nuclear deal comes ahead of the first Russia-African Forum in the city of Sochi, which President Paul Kagame has confirmed attendance, accompanied by a delegation of senior government officials.

Russia which is among the leading producers of nuclear energy in the world has signed similar cooperation agreements with other African countries despite questions over the appropriateness of the technology in the continent.

In Ghana, The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), through the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), also signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Rosatom for the construction of a Nuclear Power Plant in the West African country.

Rosatom trains local specialists in nuclear physics and energy in several African nations and runs ascholarship programme in Kenya.

Considering its relatively low cost, low pollution, and high energy density, nuclear energy has recently gained more popularity amongst nations who are willing to diversify their country’s source of energy and explore the socio-economic benefits that nuclear energy presents asides energy independence.

This morning, our Digital Weyane team chaired by brother Awash, held an emergency meeting to find out if "demarche" is a new Eritrean food we knew nothing about. We went through 11 cookbooks before we opened a dictionary to learn the meaning of the word. Every Digital Weyane meeting is like a classroom where we learn a lot of new things everyday.

IA cannot change the will of the Eritrean people, spoken through a Referendum.

Period!

USA's desire (many Ethiopians too) in 1991, was for him to become the President of Ethiopia.

Ask Herman Cohen.

Don't care what you state here, as if you have authority to speak for "Eritrean people", You don't! But what do you Personally have to say about this:

Do you Zmeselo REJECT Isayas Afwrki for saying this?

1. Yes
2. No

Show everyone here that you have Free Will that contradicts your Master PIA!

If you do not respond to the Question with either 1. Yes or 2. No,

Then the default Answer is "2. No, I Accept Whatever Isayas Afwrki States" (Hence you are not a FREE WILL individual"
