Bahretseba and Tahtay-Adi were last year's winners. Enjoy the epic first fight between gladiators from Bahre-Tseba and Adi-Mesanu. No wonder Tigray is land of great fighters!

Wajerati Gumaye expert from Wajirati's famous Adiqeyih, wedi mergieta, is doing his Awlo-style wajerati Gumaye. Dr Hagos Abraha, the lecturer 2 Axum university who is the main expert of Semitic/geez studies in Ethiopia is giving reward to wedimergieta. What a patriotic Rayan Tigrean, who hails from from Machare, Dr Hagos Abraha is great intellectual who is connected to his people and land and he is one of the fiercest Tigrean nationalist. He is expert of Yared's Mahlet, thus the Mahlet tour,. He is the one who disovered the amazing historic facts showing saint Yared lived in Raya and Wajirat, where he composed many of his books. And that Raya and Wajirat were called Raya and Wajirat long before Yare'd era as written in some of Yared's books, proving Raya and Wajirat are ancient terms and have nothing to do with Amhara or Oromo.

No wonder wedi Mergieta is popular not just in Wajerat but also in every part of Tigray.
Machare: land of heroes and brilliant Tigrean intellectuals, such as Dr Hagos Abraha, is highlighted in his songs.
BTW: Saint Yared used Gumaye in some of his initial works on folk songs ( part of Dr Hagos Abraha's epic scientific discovery).
