"Some violation of trust by a co-worker does not hold a candle to the violation of trust between a 14-year-old boy and a 55-year-old man as it pertains to this kind of behavior," Lindenau said.

Papenfuss spent up to 30 hours a week with the police department in addition to working full-time at UC-Berkeley's Museum of Vertebrate Zoology.
