I saw the future of our country Tigray today and it is not a pretty sight. I used to say only brother Awash can save us, but he too has lost hope on the UN, on the Human Rights organizations, on our TPLF leaders, and on all humanity. For a young person living in Tigray, there is little to do and it is no wonder many young adolescent people of Tigray escape its shortcomings only to disappear in the waters of the vast Mediterranean Sea that has swallowed thousands of vulnerable Tegaru migrants before them. And this unfortunate and tragic tale has continued.

Last week, 16 young Tegaru teenagers and some in their 20s became the latest victims. There were no bodies recovered and families held memorials with nothing to bury.

15 Tegaru migrants, all from one village in Tigray, died while crossing the Mediterranean. Awash and I say Rest in Peace to the dead, and send our condolences to their families in Tigray.
