Map showing the location of some of Somalia’s oil and gas blocks. (The Oil Company Coastline’s 7 blocks)

The Oil Company which paid $7 million for the blocks, will begin 3D seismic survey from 1st November 2023 until 31 March 2024. They will then process it over three to four months and they will begin drilling by the second or third quarter of 2025.
  • Mogadishu Deep- gas.
  • Jubba Deep- oil and gas.
  • Mid Somalia High - oil.
  • Block 4 - oil and gas.

Trillions of barrels of oil and gas, It’s no wonder why U.S. Government is so obsessed with Somalia.

Southern Somali Sea - Mogadishu Fish Landing Site, Somalia has by far the longest coastline of any country in Africa at roughly 3.333 kilometers and the richest fishing grounds in the world.

In addition to oil and natural gas, Somali seabed contains vast deposits of precious metals and rare earth elements, an untapped natural resources that are key in making high technology items, Somalia may as well become a major supplier of these metals in the future.

Since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, the U.S. has launched 31 declared airstrikes in Somalia, though far fewer than President Trump, whose administration launched 208 attacks from 2017 to 2021.

This is incorrect and misleading the public, the U.S. currently has more than 900 troops stationed in Somalia, Counterterrorism is just an excuse for the United States of America to blatantly interfere with Somalia's internal affairs with little remorse, The USA wouldn't have spent a penny to maintain military bases in Somalia, if it weren't for Somalia's untapped natural resources reserves.

In Somalia, which the U.N. said was facing “once-in-a-century flooding,” some people have had to seek refuge on higher ground.Credit...Said Yusuf Warsame/EPA, via Shutterstock

The EU has mobilized additional humanitarian aid funding of €3.5 million for those affected by devastating floods in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya.

In Somalia, €2 million will support the provision of emergency aid to the people most affected by the current floods, especially along the Juba River basin. This additional funding comes on top of the €5.5 million recently allocated to the country in humanitarian assistance to those most affected by the El Niño-related floods and conflict- forced displacement,

In Ethiopia, €1 million will support humanitarian partners already present in the flood-affected areas. The support will be mainly through multi-purpose cash transfers and the distribution of shelter and essential items, including for water purification and treatment.

This funding is in addition to the immediate assistance already being provided on the ground in the Somali, Oromia and Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s Regions (SNNPR) with €2.3 million through the EU’s Emergency Response Mechanism. The Mechanism already engaged in preparedness actions before the floods hit.

This brings total EU funding in response to the recent and ongoing floods in the country to €3.3 million.

In Kenya, for which €500,000 is allocated, heavy rainfall and landslides have particularly affected areas previously hit by a severe drought, i.e. the northeast part of the country. Kenya has also had a recent cholera outbreak.

In addition to this funding, €200,000 have been allocated to the Kenya Red Cross Society to support its response to the El Niño-aggravated ongoing floods.

Taking into account the intense rainfall affecting also other parts of Africa, the European Union recently allocated also €50,000 to the Burundi Red Cross Society, to support the latter’s response to the floods and landslides affecting the Cibitoke region.

Heavy rainfall has plagued Somali peninsula since October and is expected to continue until January 2024.

This is quite alarming.

Somalia has become the target of a coordinated disinformation campaign and it is very alarming, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia must warn China government over the spread of lies and misinformation about Somalia on social media sites that is not true by Chinese propagandists.

if Chinese propagandists won't stop spreading lies and misinformation about Somalia, the Somali government should cancel all the fishing agreements with China.

They desperately need Somali seafood.

A key reason behind the US military build up in Somalia is Somalia's vast untapped and unexploited natural resources that US so eagerly wish to acquire, the United States has had a military presence in Somalia since at least 1992 and it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

UNITED NATIONS, Dec 1 (Reuters) - The United Nations Security Council unanimously voted on Friday to remove the final restrictions on weapons deliveries to Somalia's government and its security forces, more than 31 years after an arms embargo was first imposed on the country. The Security Council first imposed a general and complete arms embargo on Somalia in 1992, during the US-led coalition invasion of Somalia.

Abukar Dahir Osman, Somalia's UN envoy, said the lifting of the arms embargo enables Somalia to confront security threats, including those posed by al-Shabaab.

"It also allows us to bolster the capacity of the Somali security forces by accessing lethal arms and equipment to adequately safeguard our citizens and our nation," he said, voicing commitment to further strengthen Somalia's weapons and ammunition management and to maximize utilization of resources to uphold peace within the borders.

Somalia on Tuesday rejected Ethiopia’s ‘Memorundum of Understanding’ with Northern Somalia, says the deal is “null and void”, and has no legal basis.

President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

The president said that Ethiopia’s deal with Northern Somalia, which aims to establish a port in the Somali waters, was “illegal and unenforceable”. He said that Somalia and Ethiopia had been neighbors for centuries, but their relationship had been marred by conflict and destruction.

We chose the path of peace and harmony with our neighbors. We did not seek to divide the Ethiopian people, but sadly, what we see from Ethiopia today is not what we expected,” he said.

Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said in parliament that "no one has the power give away a piece of Somalia.
