10,000 Birr is $78 USD a month! It's so sad to see Ethiopian families auctioning off their daughters for such small amount of money. The amount of food aid flowing to Ethiopia has been reduced to a trickle, forcing many parents to sell off their children to buy food. I heard it is even far worse in Tigray. This is what aid dependency does to a nation of once industrious people. Heart breaking!

The chinese guy is paying 500 Chinese yuan which is 8000 birr a month for her and her family............. not american dollars
