I do not know what is going on now in Tigray. The only source of my information comes from ER.
Having said that I have an issue about the “marginalization of TPLF” by Abiy and the establishment of “ Getachew led puppet TPLF.” The two consecutive sentences contradict each other. Has TPLF been TPLF when only led by someone other than Getachew ? The two sentences indicate that to be the case. Why the Getachew led TPLF was despised upon ? Is it because of region ? Is it because the TPLF leaders should and expected to be from Adwa and Axum ? If so the problem is not Abiy as the headline alludes. The problem rests within Tigray regional politics. I think it is time to admit the people of Tigray and TPLF are one and the same ተረት has stopped serving its purpose.
Tigray has started to hear the music loud and clear: once you choose to go the way of regional politics, there is no guardrail that could stop you to hit the bottom. Forget about the infighting between Adwa and Enderta politicians. You can see politicians choose side based on the village they are living. Some people take their guidance uncontested.
The we versus them means of conveying message has served some politicians, and still does even in advanced democracy. But it inherently has its own limits.
I am not saying Abiy is not trying to exploit the regional conflict. What I am saying is he has not created it. It is there by its own.

Though there is an effort to regionalize the split within TPLF the fact is that party members from all regions are in both factions and that is enough proof that the division is not region based. The Debretsion led TPLF is the proper TPLF that has been working inline to the principles and policies of TPLF , whereas the Getachew led splinter group is a rebellious group supported & financed by Abiy ( it has also external support from liberal forces). The Getachew group has been violating the centralized structure of TPLF and leaking information to external forces with the objective of controlling TPLF or dismantling it. It is very clear that Getachew splinter group is getting propaganda support from Abiy's propaganda machine while Debrestion led TPLF has been demonized by such medias. If the current developments are allowed to continue Getachew group will continue try to undermine Debrestion group with covert or covet interference of Abiy. That will Trigger armed conflict and the restart of war in Tigray. This war coordinated and synchronized with the conflict in Amhara , Oromia & Somalia will bring the disintegration of the Abiy government with heavy instability consequences on Ethiopia and Ethiopia becoming an easy prey for Egypt. Hence. Abiy has to think twice before over interfering in Tigray and continuing to delay the reinstatement of the territorial integrity of Tigray. Tigray was devastated by the 2020 to 2022 war with dis- proportional forces but that time has changed and it's enemies are fighting to each other and Tigray could decide and is able to do the finishing job to remove Abiy from power since he is the major threat for the survival of the Tigray people & he has already committed genocide. Abiy deserves justice at the hand of united Ethiopians including Oromos, Amharas Tigrayans etc!

As you said the conflict might not be regional. I have not had enough information to counter argue your analysis. But I am not convinced your argument that the conflict between Debretsion and Getachew will ignite war within Tigray is correct . The people are tired of it. The politicians, I believe , are not in position to switch on and off the war machine.
A war within Tigray is the last thing any sane person wish to happen.
By the way I have heard Debretsion wants to leave Ethiopia. If that is true, we can conclude from that fact the Getachew group is winning. The war you are talking about maybe is just your imagination.

Tigrayans were forced to go to war in 2020 and for the 2nd time they are being forced by Abiy! Abiy may think he has destroyed Tigray's will to fight , but that is miscalculation & not understanding the fighting spirit of the Tigray people. If Debretsion group reaches to the conclusion that all peaceful venues are closed and there is no remaining hope for Abiy to respect the territorial integrity of Tigray as per the Constitution , Tigray will join other forces who are against Abiy to remove Abiy from power.

Tplf is hands, legs and heads chained as it is the prisoner of its own core ideology which claims that the state power needs to be captured through the barrel of the guns. By the same logic even to day democratic and peaceful assumption/transformation of power seems alien to some of them such as the Debretsion group (gun power) even as we speak, while the reformist Getachew group seems to have reflected on the pros and cons of the past decades of activities so as to conclude and embrace the march of time as well as the need for embracing peaceful democratic governance and peaceful political power political assumption.
