Misraq,

Nega knows better. He is trying to project his dissatisfaction with the system. Let us say you have 100% passing. Are there enough higher institutions to accommodate for the graduates ? BTW, Abbiy is playing chief economist of the country, Berhanui is watching with awe   ! Berhanu himself is very egoistic. He must be burning inside. What a comedy.

Brother Dark E,

Birhanu Nega is overrated. Lets measure him based on what he projects about himself i.e serving Abiy Ahmed as a yes man. We often make mistakes by projecting people with an idea and image that they are not. Mind you, Birhanu has a U.S passport with full Social Security benefit and above all he is from a wealthy family. And also, he knows it that with the current ethnic federal arrangmenet, he won't get to the power ladder he has been dreaming all his life. His little hope is Gallas may install him as a puppet much like Weyannes installed minority welayta boy Hailemariam as a puppet and handle him behind. Birhanu would love that and that is why he is staying in the system. Hence, he is a dirty useless egoistic pig

Dr Birr is a failure all his life. He spent 10 years of his life on the shoulder of Issias Afeworki a ruthless dictator sipping whiskey and screwing young Eris girls at the Niyala hotel in Asmara. He hasn’t still delivered to Issias for hosting his McDonald Army. That tells you everything about this pig.

This is a spectacular success which is double from what it was only 2 years ago. When the professor received MoE the pass are was 3%. Now, number don't lie, 5.4% is almost double that rate. In fact as this number approaches 10%, it will come close to the era of Haile Selassie. If this improvement continues at this rate within the next 3 years, pass rate will approach 10%. That is about 100,000 academic material students entering universities in a any given year which would be about 500,000 or 1/2 million to 700,000 students in higher education 4 + years institutions. Problems remains that the national economy will not be able to absorb 150,000 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree graduates each year.

Oromia and Amhara, the two major regions in the country, are the symbols of Ethiopian education system failure. You know why?

Faandoo and Shandoo, the most ignorant people of the world! Helpless, the sign of the failure of the two communities' future. They don't try to earn their living, rather try to rob and live on the sweet of others. Cursed!

They are all raising only guns, but no pens, the short cut to power, they assume! Tigray, it seems, has drawn its lesson finally, it has exhausted all the other options and now settled itself to sit down and work hard. This is indicated by the rate of students passing the 12th grade there.

Some schools had no students who passed. This includes
4 in Addis Ababa,
33 in Afar,
36 in Benishangul,
56 in Amhara,
553 in Oromia,
156 in Somali
52 in Tigray.

However, all schools in Harari managed to pass students, indicating varied performance across regions.

Education in Ethiopia has changed for ever. To be honest, doubt Birhanu has any contribution to this. Now all school kids realized, going to college won’t land you any job or descent job. They just finish high school and go fending to support themselves and family. The government used to be the employer of almost all college grads decades back. Now we are in a country where physicians are unemployed because the health system is not yet well privatized in a flourishing way. Also kilils like Oromia let you in only if you are Oromo or oromifa speaker. Basically you can’t go to all kilil and win job if you come from another ethnic. There is no robust economy. You may be an engineer but end up as cobble stoner when u are expected to do bigger development jobs. There is no predictable peace, enough food etc for kids to focus on education.
The education system perfectly depicts the issues the country is facing!

I have told you many times, the so called Qubee or Qeerroo Generation is a total failure. The people of the region will going to pay dearly here for, in due time.

The politicians who were driving the mob on the streets and used to boast about their Qeeroo (Qubee Generation) should be a disgrace to the people they claimed to represent.
Nothing can prove their fatal failure than this empirical data!

Well, I may share an experience I made from an encounter with a young Ethiopian.

I am not a good reader, I am also not a PhD holder, I do value education and the fruit of knowledge. If you know something, even if you may go to bed empty stomach, still you can think what you could do the next morning to avoid such more nights in the future, I assume.

The person I met abroad before few years was a PhD holder from a western university, he told me, he also uses this title in his signatures I came across his social media accounts.

We had a discussion and I was somehow remained gazing at him and wondered about how he might be thinking when he talks about issues, mostly revolving around political scenes in the country (Ethiopia) where we both stem from.

Afterwards I asked him if he also tries to read some books when he has time, he didn't hesitate or wait any longer to tell me, "no I don't have time to read books, I just get my information form the (youtube) videos I get in the internet". And he was acting as political analyst, and he is one of the so called Qubee Generation.

I gave up on the entity already before that!

This is the affair of the state!
