Ethiopian FM Tedros Adhanom gave his first comment on the January 21st event at MOI in Eritrea

Postby Tazabi-1 » 12 Feb 2013, 16:58

Ethiopian FM Tedros Adhanom gave his first comment on the January 21st event at ministry of information in Asmara, Eritrea.

Tedros, in his address to the Ethiopian parliament, he elevated the incident at the MOI in Eritrea to a “failed coup” while many dismissed it as just an action of renegade soldiers.

Tedros entertained two possible scenarios that will follow the incident:

-the regime will continue by making minor “structural adjustment”
-And, the other possible scenarios which he categorized it as dangerous one is a wholesale change in leadership. He added that such whole sale leadership change could have dangerous impact in the region. At any rate, he said he is following the events closely and adjusting the country reaction to the demands that the situation brings. He assured his audience that his assessments are not based on hearsay but concrete facts from the sources.

According to my diplomatic sources in Asmara, in agreement with Tedros Adahnom’s first entertained scenario, there are whispers that PIA regime will more likely follow the Chinese communist party style tailored to Eritrea’s “objective situations”. The changes that will be implemented are:

• EPLF will host its long awaited third congress within six months period of time
• The Eritrean constitution will be implemented with minor revisions recommended by EPLF’s third congress: the contentious issues for the congress to settle will be:

- whether Eritrea will pursue a multi-party system as it is stipulated in the ratified constitution or opt for a “broad based” front.
-Eritrea’s strategy in finding a lasting solution to the border problem with Ethiopia and
-Eritrea’s relations with various Ethiopian armed and non-armed opposition groups.

• In a secret ballot, the congress will elect its central committee (CC) and the CC in return will elect its politburo and secretary general of the party.
• There is slight chance that PIA might opt to resign after overseeing the proposed changes.

The same diplomats hinted that he might resign by 2015.

How can eplf host its third congress since it doesn't exist. pfdj needs to address the demands of the Eritrean people instead ignoring them as if they don't exist.

free all political prisoners
Implement the Eritrean constitution
Close the open ended national service; 18 months and you are done
Reactivate Eritreans National Assembly
set election date

How funny, Ethiopia's tribal regime discussing other country's political condition. Ethiopia needs to be democratic and release all the political prisoners and get the hell out of other country's territories. Ethiopian PM needs to take charge of his job, he should stop listening to TPLF order or else he will be responsible for anything that happened during his time as the head of the government, including genocide. Her should take charge and start dismantling the TPLF junta or else he will be persecuted as part and parcel of the genocidal pack.

EPLF already held it's third congress in 1994, Mr. Know-it-all ("Tazabi")! Aren't you already tired of your own politically uninformed, baseless, and quite childish predictions? You know, we all are!

As to "Akele", you could use some psycho-therapy sessions. You're in desperate need!

I thought I was the robot one.....I know your level (non-robot :P ), so I wouldn't bother to inquire what 'democracy' constitutes for you. But can you do me a favour? If you can't follow the thread and you've to inject your 'inputs' in everything what Eritrea should and shouldn't do, can you, at least, be more creative in conveying your ideas and spare us from your insults, nauseating blanket statements, Mengistu-style rhetoric and redundancy?

That is a right move in the right direction. Imagine it has been more than a decade the party have not held a summit.

Me as Deqi-Arawit; Don't believe in multi party system democracy. Because implementing multi party system democracy in less developed and heterogeneous society means a recipe for destruction hence i opt to prefer the Chinese model or Kemalism kind of system. In fact if i chose between the two, Kemalism mixed with the old and old tradition of the EPLF kind of system is more suitable to our society than the Chinese one.

As to the rest, Generation turnover should take place immediately; all those top brass within the party and military should resign and vacate their spot so the next generation takes charge. And the state should offer pension and accommodate their will for the serve they have done to the country.

Resignation should start with Bokassa junior.

peace
