In February of 1989 during a major joint military operation between the T.P.L.F and the mighty Eritrean E.P.L.F forces that involved EPLF's mechanized unit as well as the special commando units, armed with tanks, artillery, anti-tank and anti-air missiles, they drove out the Derg army from Shire and captured the town in a major battle victory in Tigray.

To the dismay of the Eritrean fighters, the TPLF field commanders rushed in to bring down the Ethiopian flag and hoisted their TPLF flag in place, and their rather bizarre action prompted the EPLF commanders to question why the TPLF field commanders would remove an Ethiopian flag when the town of Shire, and the whole Tigray region in general, is an Ethiopian territory. The TPLF field commanders gave them rather childish answers because they had no proper answers to give. An EPLF commander then told them,

".....we can teach you how to shoot guns and train you how to become effective fighters, but we can't teach you how to become effective Ethiopians because that sort of thing only comes naturally when you truly believe deep within your heart that you are Ethiopians and show utmost respect to the flag that symbolizes the people, their independence and the nation's sovereignty."

The frustrated EPLF commanders figured that with time and progress the TPLF would one day learn to embrace their Ethiopian identity and nationality.... but boy were they wrong!

Twenty loooong years later, the TPLF LIBERATION front is still around and its leaders are displaying their trademark ignorance, stupidity, inferiority complex and hatred against Ethiopians, and they continue to bash the proud Ethiopian flag as 'a piece of rag' and shamelessly drape it around a four legged animal and parade it through a stadium in Mekelle.

Throughout Tigray today, it is not the Ethiopian flag but the TPLF flag that is flying high to the exception to few public places where Ethiopian flag is displayed as mere political correctness. Driven by their sheer greed for riches, the TPLF junta and their disciples have deviated from the smooth and wide road provided to them by the EPLF to start a new journey and create a united and strong Ethiopia, instead they chose a dangerous narrow road which is leading them to imminent destruction. You can take the woyanes out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the woyanes!

A friendly advice to my Tegaru brothers and sisters who're blindly following the woyanes to the bottomless pit:
I know it is hard to break free after so many years but please don’t be victims and discover the truth about the ways the woyane junta have brainwashed and mislead you for their own narrow objectives. Success is not measured by the number of new buildings you see being erected in Tigray, but by the courage with which you have maintained the struggle for justice and equality for all Ethiopians. To paraphrase President Obama's famous speech : If there's a child on the Southern regions of Ethiopia who can't read and has no access to clean drinking water, that should matter to you even if it's not your child. If there is an elderly woman in the Ogaden region who is ill and can't find food to eat, that should make you very concerned, even if she's not your grandmother. If there's an Oromo family being rounded up and thrown in jail without due process of law, that should threaten your rights.

Woyanes will soon fall but Ethiopia will endure forever. Choose Ethiopia, and you will receive God's abundant blessings.

This is the flag hanging on your wall, and it will be the same flag covering your coffin when you're ready to go meet Hitler in your natural habitat
