While skirmish are focusing our attention on the affairs concerning the old country we came from, CNN just reported that Israel has just begun defending itself comparatively targeting sites inside Iran. What is next? Expect the market to sink tomorrow in reaction to this latest development. Israel which is the only beacon of democracy in the entire region including The Horn of Africa has the right to defend itself. But let's hope that this skirmish will not explode into a regional war. Middle East is awash with weapons of mass destruction and if anyone of them finds its back against the wall, they will not hesitate to use them. If those religious fanatics become desperate, they will not hesitate to set the entire Arabian Peninsula up in flames. This is getting more and more terrifying. Chemical weapons and nuclear bombs are said to have homes in that part of the world and the regions is wrought with religious fanatics. In their twisted mind if they all are dead in flames, so what? Their Messiahs are on the corner to take home to paradise! Let's hope and pray that things will not go that far.

I just read a story on another website about how agents of the regime back in the old country use all these social media outlets such as Facebook and other as their propaganda and misinformation platforms. This revealing story does not come as shocking to me. Self aggrandizing propaganda has been one of the tools sitting governments use to maintain their hold on the political power throughout history. They use every means to prop up their status above every one else and they use that to demonize those who stand in their ways. They launch verbal and written charges against you first before they eliminate you ohysically. Mengistu, liberation fronts and opposition groups used that method against their opponents from the bottom of the deck in the 1960's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Then it used to be in newspapers, radio, TV, pamphlets and mass rallies to create hysteria. But know you have this one side of all these social media weapons of mass destruction.

The current government seems to be doubted by the citizens of that country after an exciting start in 2018. Many in Oromia have spat it out and just as many in Amhara region don’t wanna hear even the word ‘Prosperity’ in their neck of wood. Long range artillery volleys, drones and search and liquidate did not bring the desired plan to roost. It could be a time of desperation and during such a predicament that is why such an all out propaganda campaign does not come as a surprise to me. But it worries me a lot when it is a glaring fact that there is no viable opposition strong enough to cut the mustard. It is danger time for that gem of the colored.
