State Department Summoned TPLF Diplomats
HR 128 is ripe for a Vote!
Monday February 26 2018

Sources from the State Department confirmed that a senior official at the African Affairs called the Ethiopian government "controlled by a minority TPLF regime". This very same statement was also aired by Johnnie Carrson(former Acting Secretary for African Affairs).

The tplf diplomats led by Ambassador Kassa Teklebirhan were shocked to learn that the U.S. called the regime a minority government upfront. The State Department official further underscore the position of the U.S. that there must be a transition in Ethiopia where all stake holders are represented.

In a related matter the deadline is two days away for the Ethiopian Government to meet the conditions of U.S. Congress. The reinstated State of Emergency by the tplf regime brought stiff opposition from America. The proposed HR 128 will impose financial and physical mobility restrictions against the TPLF officials, along other serious punitive measures.

Following the strongly worded American Embassy statement opposing the reinstated SOE, the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry rushed U.S. Ambassador Mike for explanation. The demand to soften the statement was declined by the Ambassador according to a report from AddisStandard. It is becoming apparent that the U.S. is drifting away from blindly supporting the TPLF regime from the get go.

Credible sources affirmed that the diplomats were summoned by Donald Yamamoto, Acting Secretary of African Affairs at the State Department. Ambassador Yamamoto was the top American diplomat during the disgraced 2005 Ethiopian election.
