I'm a Somali that learned some amharic

Post by abyssomal » 28 Dec 2017, 03:48

XXX
Hey guys, I'm an American Somali and I've been teaching myself Amharic for about less than a year now cause I study Arabic as well and there are some similarities to them. I've found that Amharic is more easier but idk if that's cause of my previous Arabic knowledge. Anyways I'll write a formal introduction with my broken amharic lol

How crappy was it

If it is honest,it is a good try,our hope is to live as brothers, civilization makes people one,in the 1960s all people were civilized,I had known a Somali Ethiopian teacher as a national service teacher from the university in Addis Abeba.

No, your Amharic is very clear. Well done! Now let's examine this sentence: 'ሶማሊ ነኝ እና የቋንቋ አማርኛ ተማርኩ'. (a) In Amharic, a Somali = Sumaalle [ሱማሌ], hence: better to say: 'እኔ ሱማሌ ነኝ' or 'እኔ ሱማሌያዊ ነኝ' . (b) 'የቋንቋ አማርኛ ተማርኩ', the name of the tribe that speaks that language [Amharic] comes first, followed by the word 'ቋንቋ' that, like the prefix 'Af/Afka Soomaliga' or 'Afaan Oromoo' indicates a language. Hence, it is better to say: የአማርኛ ቋንቋ ተማርኩ። [ = I learnt/learned the Amharic language, and is in 'Past Tense format']. Or, better still, 'የአማርኛ ቋንቋ እየተማርኩ ነዉ' [I am learning the Amharic language, which is an ongoing process or in 'Present Continuous Tense']. But, most Amharic speakers would perfectly understand your message in Amharic. Good Luck.

Thanks bro :P one thing that helped me learn were the songs, especially Teddy Afro. I'd listen to a song, write down as many words as I could hear, and check the actual lyrics after. Of course it wasn't the only way I learned Amharic though, but it was the most useful.

What kind of Somali calls himself Abssomal? I would've believed you but that name is terrible because Somalis have nothing to do with Abbysinians. Somalis believe themselves as kings and they don't claim other tribes especially not it's historical rival enemy.

"Abyssomal"

I doubt you're Somali

Time will tell if you're actually somali or another pretender, but.. Khysion is trying very hard to convince us that he's Somali. So don't take him too serious. He has to attack people and constantly say he's Somali so everyone can believe him. In reality, He's an insecure tigrayan.

Amharic is a beautiful and useful language indeed, so good luck. After my afaan oromo studies, I want to work on Amharic which I already speak daily with family to improve. Nothing beats actual practice of speaking a language you're trying to learn.

Best of luck man.

Abyssomal welcome to the forum walaalo, enjoy your stay and get used to this cuqdad ridden awrastaale/hawdian from hargeisa, he's an idoor so don't let him shed his crocodile tears to you.

Sadacha is a good lad, don't let Khysion make you cuss him, he had several accounts in here such as mred and ethotash. He insults all ethnic groups.

Once again , welcome to our forum.

You will learn a lot from different Ethiopians in here.

ማርሲን: By the name of Allah. I am not Mred/Ethoash nor Hawdian/awrastaale and I'll say wallahi billahi talli I'm neither one of them. Hawdian is a half-breed from Somaliland that I usually argue and Mred is my enemy that I despise and see him as another savage Galla. Are you crazy? Have you not seen his active facebook, he owns a forum. This [deleted] is a preacher of hate and he wishes genocide on Tigrays and at the same time he wants to ally with Amhara and dream about conquering and ruling Somalis. This [deleted] is nothing like me. I always expose this guy and argue him and you expect me to be him? I'm a Somali sxb and just because I'm against your clan doesn't mean I'm not Somali. You think an Agame will know Somali sub-clans like that? LOL, go ahead and believe what you claim. But I already showed you I'm a Muslim and I am.

I don't hate your clan, but I don't agree with their views and that doesn't mean I wish anything bad for them. I would die for them anytime if a Galla dares to attack them, I'm actually saying this with my heart sxb

Just look at this b*stard: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=152301

I cant take your dumbass serious, what is the view of my clan that you don't agree with? Obviously me and you know that I am the majority in Somali region, why are you in here miss informing the forumers with your frustration?

Do you think it will change what's on the ground? 50-60% is Ogaden while the others are the rest by Issa and gadabuursi being the majority of the rest of somalis .

Ogadens don't view Dir as enemy but Idoors, since your claiming not to be idoor then what is the problem between us? We have never come in touch with each other nor do we have any kind of history fighting each other.
