As an individual oromo I can tell u for sure that most oromos have no actual problems or beef with Eritrea.
Historically we must remember OLF members and EPLF members died side by side fighting the derg.
I believe we can peacefully, through trade, use both assab and Djibouti.

I'll tell you a short story....

About 10 years ago I was in Atlanta with family....
We were in a particular shopping center that had Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants and businesses next to each other...
We were outside waiting for our food... And there happened to be Eritreans celebrating their independence and my uncle smiled and said to me, "we must respect their independence and realize only Eritreans can decide their fate".....

Amhara is a threat to the horn if they are thinking about to annex an inch from other neighboring countries.

This is my personal opinion: as far as I can tell the new Amhara/Oromo generation don't have any emotional attachment to Eritrea. From my own personal experience, they only know Eritrea via the refugees in Ethiopia, that is it. So Eritrea is not an issue at all, I am only talking about the new generation. The emotional attachment with Eritrea or Assab is gone for good in my view because I have never seen the young Ethiopians even mention assab let alone demand it. In my personal view both Wolkait and Badme should be returned to the rightful owners Gonder and Eritrea to settle the border dispute in that region once and for all. Wolkait was always Gonder and must be returned. And Badme, our government fvcked it up and we must take responsibility. Our own government insisted to settle the issue of Badme at the international court even if many warned it. So we lost and we have to abide by the rule, period! We have no one to blame here but ourselves, specially tigreans have no one to blame but TPLF and its leadership who insisted to resolve the issue at the international court.

After the border dispute is resolved, we should see Eritrea like any other neighbor and do business in hard currency like Djibouti and every economic relationship must be regulated by law, no more wild unregulated business that could cause us yet again another conflict. Eritrean citizens should be viewed as any other foreign citizen no special treatment bad or good. That is my personal opinion. Anything else would only open the door for yet another useless conflict. We should be ruled by laws and not by emotions. Ethiopians especially habeshas need to stop seeing Eritreans as specially close to them. That is unfair to the Somalis, south Sudanese, Afars in Djibuti etc. If Eritreans are closer to Ethiopians, it is only to a certain group of Ethiopians just like Djiboutians are to Ethiopian Afars. So no special treatment for Eritreans bad or good.

Oh, dude, you have a very short memory or simply hear something and echo it without trying to understand what has been said and that is the problem with you.

We have been calling for the people to people relationship between the two peoples of the two countries, which have got a natural and enduring bond between them. And I will be happy as a citizen if the relationship will get back to normal between the peoples of the two countries.

But your echoing of Shabia and OLF dying side by side is an empty gelaba like you, sorry but I have to say. Derg was a state and as such tried to defend the interest of the Ethiopian people, which included safeguarding the territorial integerity of the country and defending the soverignty of its people against which both your OLF and Shabia fought and unfortunately partly also won.

That Derg was undemocratic is another issue here.

What you also forgot or ignored to say is many people in Ethiopia, including, if not mostly, from Oromo, were also died fighting against shabia, which tried to assail against our country even after becoming independent. And which book are you reading from? Do you even remember how many Oromo children perished in the so called war of WWI style with a modern weaponery just less than two decades ago?

Defend the Agame lies,

How can a relationship be established as long as your agame tplf kin are still in power?
once they are completely wiped out, i see no problems that would impede us (ethiopia) and eritrea uniting or forming a relationship based on mutual benefits and so on.

it's not ''empty gelaba'' if it's the TRUTH mr agame...
oromos and eritreans fought side by side against the derg, this is a fact, whether u like it or not...

defending the derg is a joke to me...u wanna cry because Ethiopia ''lost their ports'', but the derg can be majorly blamed for that!
had the idiot mengistu let aman andom solve the eritrean issue PEACEFULLY AS HE WAS CLOSE TO DOING; WE MAY HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MESS HAPPEN...

he chose the brute force method, and it failed; epic-ally!!

''territorial integrity'' is not worth more than the lives/basic human rights of the human beings WITHIN THAT TERRITORY, THAT'S SOMETHING MOST EXTREMIST-UNIONISTS LIKE YOU, DO NOT GET...
There'd be no OLF, EPLF, TPLF, ELF, ALF, and SO ON, had there not been a dictatorship ruling from addis ababa since at least the emperors time... but no, people like you never consider that, you never consider things from the perspective of the traditionally oppressed...
