Sometime back, while at the Library of the United States Congress, I found this Map of Ethiopia- given to visiting American biologist & geographer Homer Shantz, as part of a study on Agricultural regions of Africa in 1924, by Haile Selassie....

This Endertan gentleman from Mekelle is saying,...

• "Before the TPLF came into being, there was never such thing as Tigray. We never heard of it. Anyone over the age of 50 can tell you that they never heard of it. The only place we knew that was called Tigray was a small dusty village in Adwa with a population no more than 100 peasants and their cattle. It is for this reason that when our elders hear the name "Tigray" they automatically think that you're talking about the small village in Adwa where most Weyane came from.

Ascari Fiyameta perhaps you are too old to read it! I read " ትግሬ" on the map። Try to find something else prior 1929)and you will find most of the present ascari land was part of Tigray! አሳ፥ ጎርጓሪ፥ ዘንዶ፥ያወጣል፥ የሚባለው፥ ይኸው፥ነው፤ see map below!
